Saturday 12 September 2026 · 9am
An unsanctioned bench press and deadlift competition for active Storiestrong members. The members-only format keeps it exactly what it should be: a competition built around the people who train here every week.
Sunday 29 November 2026
Two competitions, one day. Iron Classic III runs in the morning as an APL sanctioned tested meet: full technical rules, qualified judging, APL membership required. StorieStrong XVIII follows in the afternoon as an unsanctioned novice 3-lift for athletes stepping onto the platform for the first time. Both events share the floor, the equipment, and the energy.
The six competitions Storiestrong runs each year started as a way to give members a real destination a date in the calendar that makes every training session count.
What they became is something more. A competition at Storiestrong is the moment the gym proves what it says it is. The environment, the atmosphere, the standard of performance from members who've been coached properly it speaks for itself.
Every person who walks through the door as a spectator or competitor and hasn't trained here before leaves knowing exactly what the gym is. That's the point.
Full powerlifting rules, qualified judges, and proper attempt selection and flight structure. Not a modified version of the real thing, but the real thing, run properly in a facility designed for it.
Entries are open to invited athletes beyond the Storiestrong membership, and the meet is big enough to be meaningful while staying small enough to be run properly.
